PlayGround Liverpool launch

The stars of the north-west were out in force to the launch of a brand new super-club, the PlayGround in Liverpool. Jennifer Ellison turned up in an amazing figure-hugging white Herve Leger dress which showed off her dramatic weight loss, and how she has shifted all of her baby weight. Rebecca Ferguson danced the night away and even went on the drums to play accompaniment to the DJs that were playing the latest dance music at the new £2 million nightclub venue at the Liverpool Hilton.

New Years Eve at the Playboy Club

Cooper Hefner, the 20 year old son of Hugh Hefner, brought in the New Year at Playboy Club London after a week long stay in London. Cooper, in his final year at university in the States, is expected to play an active role in the company after he graduates. He spent much of his time in London site-seeing and enjoying visiting some of London’s top celebrity hang-outs before he flew back to LA. Cooper hosted New Years Eve at Playboy Club London, in Mayfair and was presented the famous Playboy Key by the stunning Union Jack bunnies.

Full Moon Party at Cinnabar, Vermilion Restaurant, Manchester

Cinnabar, Manchester’s most glamorous bar, hosted a fabulous ‘Full Moon Party’, the first of a series of spectacular events in association with FashionTV. DJs Jon Besant of 2Risque fame and Damien from Clique provided the house music whilst parent restaurant Vermilion the sumptuous Thai food. In strobe-lit surroundings were designed by Miguel Cancio Martins.

Selfridges Trafford launches Destination Menswear

Selfridges Manchester Trafford hosted a star-studded launch for their new menswear department, The destination for menswear. Sky Sports news reporter Hayley McQueen hosted a Q&A session with England cricketer Jimmy Anderson and England International rugby player Mark Cueto. Meanwhile, guests enjoyed DJ sets from Henry Holland and TOWIE’s Lauren Pope.

Annual Collars & Coats Gala Ball

Celebrities joined rescue dogs on the red carpet in support of Battersea Dogs & Cats Home’s major fundraiser, the annual Collars & Coats Gala Ball in November. Taking place at Battersea Evolution, stars of stage and screen united for an amazing cause in the presence of the Home’s President TRH Prince and Princess Michael of Kent. Media star, Peter Andre, entertained guests with his warm charm and humour as host for the evening. The event’s top-billing performances included Lulu who wowed revellers with some of her most memorable hits over the years. The hypnotic Escala also indulged guests with a breath-taking performance, as the event’s surpise act of the night.

Playground preview party at the Liverpool Hilton

Soap stars and city VIP’s were amongst the first people to get a sneak preview of Liverpool’s most exclusive private members club. Playground, situated at the Hilton Hotel, Liverpool One, is due to open this month. The private members’ space, the Private Playroom, is by invitation only and costs £500.

Pink & Sparkly Ball

Claire Simonsen transformed Formby Hall Golf Club with her Pink & Sparkly Ball which raised over £6,000 in aid of the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. Over 200 guests glitzed their way into the ball wearing fabulous pink dresses and fetching pink bow ties as they were greeted with a pink champagne reception courtesy of Hatfield Land Rover.

Selfridges Exchange new Beauty Hall opening

As part of a £20 million investment, the new 20,000 sq ft Beauty Hall at Exchange Square in Manchester is a first for a UK luxury store. Celebrity visitors were greeted by a panoramic 360 degree view of the new area as they entered via a glass atrium designed by globally renowned retail architects HKHM. Some of the internationally renowned beauty brands to now be part of the remodelled store include Illamasqua, Giorgio Armani, Tom Ford, Jo Malone, Kiehl’s, Nars and Japanese brands RMK and Suqqu.

Ernest and Young

Two North-West based entrepreneurs beat 42 finalists from across the UK to pick up the Business Products and Services and Consumer Products and Services Awards at Ernst & Young’s leading Entrepreneur of the Year UK final, which took place at the Hilton Hotel in London.

Crème de la Crème ball

Christian Audigier wine and Champagne sponsored the Annual Crème de la Crème Charity Ball, hosted by Dawn and Ashley Ward in the grounds of their Alderley Edge Mansion. The event raised over £100,000 for Destination Florida, Macclesfield Hospital and the Meningitis Trust.
